On top of the world: Eiffel Tower



Coucou les chatons!
Today I'm going to tell you about my experience at the top of the Eiffel Tower and share some tips too.

The Eiffel Tower is the most visited touristic venue of the world, and I think it is the only thing you can't miss while in Paris.

"I remember I only realized I was in Paris when I first saw the tower. And maybe that will happen to you too. "

It was a amazing experience, and I relive it every time I pass by  "La Dame de fer" (The Iron Lady). But even more amazing and obligatory than visiting the tower, is to go up. Is something you must do one time in your life, if you have the opportunity. After almost one year in Paris here I go, first time at the top of the tower, and it's breathtaking!

 
Can you see the Arc du Triomphe in the middle of the picture? Unreal! 


The tower has 3 floors you can visit, 2 restaurants that have months of waiting list, and a view you won't believe! Prepare your camera, but don't forget to contemplate everything around you, It's almost surreal how beautiful the city is from above.
After the magic, I have to warn you: It's a long wait and you have to be patient with all the other tourists, and of course, be careful with your belongings, as always. It took me a whole sunday afternoon to visit the top of the tower, but here's a good (and really useful) tip: buy your entrance in advance! At the tower's website http://www.toureiffel.paris/ you can buy your tickets and spare yourself and your family/friends at least 1 hour of queue just to buy your way in!

Hoje eu vou falar sobre a minha experiência no topo da Torre Eiffel e compartilhar com vocês algumas dicas também.

A Torre Eiffel é o local turístico mais visitado do mundo, e eu acho que é a única coisa que você não pode perder enquanto estiver em Paris. 

"Eu me lembro que eu só percebi que estava em Paris quando eu a vi pela primeira vez."

 Foi uma experiência incrível, e eu revivo o mesmo sentimento cada vez que eu passo pela "Dame de fer" (A Dama de Ferro). Mas ainda mais surpreendente e obrigatório do que visitar a torre, é ir subir nela. É algo que você deve fazer pelo menos uma vez na vida, se você tiver a oportunidade. Depois de quase um ano em Paris, aqui vou eu, pela primeira vez no topo da torre é de tirar o fôlego!
 
A torre tem três andares que você pode visitar, 2 restaurantes que têm meses de lista de espera, e uma vista você não vai acreditar! Prepare sua câmera, mas não se esqueça de contemplar tudo ao seu redor, é quase surreal como é linda a cidade de cima.

Depois de toda essa magia, eu tenho que avisar vocês: A visita é uma longa espera e você tem que ser paciente com todos os outros turistas, e, claro, ter cuidado com seus pertences, como sempre. Levei uma tarde de domingo inteira para visitar o topo da torre, mas aqui vai uma dica útil para otimizar sua visita: compre o seu ingresso com antecedência! 
No site da torre http://www.toureiffel.paris/ você pode comprar seus ingressos e poupar você, sua família e amigos de pelo menos uma hora de fila. Acho uma medida interessante principalmente para quem tem crianças pequenas e idosos na viagem.

Glasses: EDIE & WATSON



Bonjour les petits chats!
I want to tell you about my new discovery, thanks to My Little Paris: the glasses from Edie and Watson that protect from the blue light from screens we are addicted to: our phones, tablets, computers, TVs, etc.

"I've had plenty of vision problems (headaches, tired eyes) due to my job over the years and as soon as I saw their glasses I got really excited."

Their are not correction glasses for you view problems, neither they protect from the sun, but they will protect you from the bad blue rays from the screens. It's a new technology that appeared in Japan 3 years ago and for me its pretty great because I stay (way too much) staring at screens during my day, and if it protects me a little I can be really helpful.



They cost 45€ in any of the 6 models they provide, and they have free shipping (for France at least).

Besides the offer of protection, what I loved about theses glasses is their design: 6 models that are really cute and are made for either man and women. That's maybe why I already ordered 4 units: two for mom and dad, one for me and one for the boyfriend. You can check all the models at their website: Edie&Watson.



I'll update the article with some photos of our chosen ones with and the first impressions as soon as they arrive. Shipping and delivery takes usually 4 weeks.

UPDATE: Sadly, after 3 months of wait, I never received my 4 pairs and asked for reimbursement. Very disappointed with the brand and because of that, I won't be able to tell you if the glasses are good or not. Sad, sad.

Quero contar para vocês sobre a minha nova descoberta, graças ao site My Little Paris: os óculos de Edie e Watson que protegem contra a luz azul das telas que somos viciados: nossos telefones, tablets, computadores, TVs, etc.

"Eu tive muitos problemas de visão (dores de cabeça, nos olhos), devido ao meu trabalho ao longo dos anos e, logo que eu vi essa proposta fiquei muito animada."

Não são óculos grau, nem protegem do sol, mas eles protegem dos raios azuis das telas, que dizem por ai fazem super mal. É uma nova tecnologia que surgiu no Japão há 3 anos e para mim é muito interessante, porque eu fico (um pouco demais) olhando para telas durante o dia, e se ele me proteger um pouco e evitar um pouco o incômodo, pode ser realmente útil.

Eles custam 45 €, qualquer um dos seis modelos que oferecem, e eles têm frete grátis (para a França, pelo menos).

Além da oferta de proteção, o que eu amei sobre esses óculos é o design: são 6 modelos realmente bonitos e são feitos para homens e mulheres. Vou atualizar o artigo com algumas fotos dos nossos eleitos e com as primeiras impressões, assim que eles chegarem. O envio e a entrega levam geralmente 4 semanas.

Atualização: Depois de 3 meses de espera, não recebi os pares que comprei e tive de pedir o reembolso. Fiquei muito desapontada com a marca e por não poder contar minha experiência com os óculos. é uma pena!

O básico do Museu do Louvre



Hi guys!
For my second post I will tell you a little about my first experience at the Louvre Museum and what I loved about it. I only did a small visit so far, so that's why this article will be 'swimming in surface'.
As many of you may know, the Louvre is huge and Paris has a lot of other amazing museums that even I didn't visit yet, but this one you can't miss, on a long or small trip to the city.

My experience was, as expected, incredible. I got so amazed that I left with the feeling that I would never see the entire museum, and I didn't, and you won't either. But don't panic, it's a huuuuge museum. So don't suffer: go for the essentials (Monalisa/Gioconda), Venus de Milo, and take suggestions, but please, PLEASE, go see at least one part of the Egyptians section, I'm personally crazy about their history and it was like I had a small stroke of happiness (haha). 

"And of course, look up and around to enjoy the architecture of the museum itself, it's mind blowing."


Don't forget to get a guide on your language at the reception, prepare your body to walk a lot (even if you do only the basics,  it doesn't take less than 2 hours, and at the end, the slow spree will feel like a marathon) and enjoy!
Here's an precious tip (so keep it to yourself!): To avoid the crazy huge line to enter the museum, try the small side entrance that is right beside the car's entrance (at Rivoli Street), you will avoid the crowded line gracefully! :)

Oi pessoal!

Para o meu segundo post vou falar um pouco sobre a minha primeira experiência no Museu do Louvre e que eu amei sobre ela.

Como muitos de vocês devem saber, o Louvre é enorme e Paris tem muitos outros museus que eu mesma ainda não visitei, mas esse tem que manter na sua lista, não importa se sua viagem para a cidade é longa ou curta.

Minha experiência foi, como esperado, incrível. Eu fiquei tão maravilhada que eu saí com a sensação de que eu nunca iria ver todo o museu, e eu não o fiz, e você não vai também #tristerealidade.

Mas não entre em pânico, é um museu enooorme. Portanto, não sofra: vá ao basico: Monalisa, Vênus de Milo, e claro, aceite sugestões; mas por favor, POR FAVOR, vá ver pelo menos uma parte da seção Egípcios, eu pessoalmente sou louca por sua história e foi como se eu tivesse um pequeno derrame de felicidade (haha). 

"E, claro, olhe para cima e ao redor para apreciar a arquitetura do museu em si, é de pirar."

Não se esqueça de pegar um guia em português na recepção, organize um pouco seu passeio antes de sair passeando, prepare o seu corpinho para andar muito (mesmo que você faça apenas o básico, não leva menos de 2 horas, e no final, a lenta caminhada vai parecer uma maratona) e divirta-se!

Aqui está uma dica preciosa (para guardar com você): Para evitar a louca e enorme fila para entrar no museu, tente a pequena entrada lateral que fica ao lado da entrada do carros (na Rua Rivoli), você vai evitar a fila aglomerada graciosamente! :)

Enchanté, It is Paris Time!


Hello! :)
For my first post I’ll be telling you a little bit about the blog and myself.
I’ve created It is Paris Time a few months ago but I hadn’t figured out what I wanted the blog to be yet. I knew I had this urge to share somethings from my life in Paris and some precious information (personal or administrative) I wish I had someone to tell me about so I would understand life away from home more easily. But work and school caught up to me so I ended up leaving the blog’s construction on the side, for a moment when I had time and energy. And one thing I realized:
I want this blog to be spontaneous as life is, I don’t want to make it an obligation, but a pleasure.
That being said, I want to tell you about me, shortly.
I moved to Paris almost an year ago to be with my boyfriend and before that I had a crazy feeling and need to change something in my life. I had already finished college, I had a career that didn’t satisfied me and I’ve been desiring life abroad for years, but I never had the courage or enough means, and at that moment I had a great “excuse”: love. It may sound tacky, but, what the hell, it’s true! So here I go: I left my family, friends and old life behind. Sometimes it was too scary even to think about it, and life in Paris and away from my loved ones wasn’t easy, but at the same time it has been an amazing year, and I’m moving to the second one in the City of Lights.
Slowly I’ve learned french, worked at different places, found the dream job (another post for that one) and started seeing life in a way that I never though possible. I think this text could have been written by anyone, since living in an country other than your own and living as an adult can be globally similar to a lot of people, but nothing is so clear that can’t be explained and detailed a little more.
And that’s why I’m here: maybe to help you with some doubts about life in Paris, or about Paris itself, and perhaps help myself figure out a lot of things I still haven’t lived or that I’m about to. As a perfectionist I still want to do a thousand stuff on the blog, get a professional camera, a better layout, etc. but I have to start from somewhere right?

Em meu primeiro post quero contar um pouco sobre o blog e sobre mim.
Eu criei o It is Paris Time ha poucos meses atrás e ate então não tinha descoberto o que eu queria o blog fosse. Eu sabia que tinha essa vontade de compartilhar algumas coisas da minha vida em Paris e algumas informações preciosas (pessoais ou administrativas), que eu gostaria que alguém tivesse me dito sobre a vida longe de casa. Mas a escola e o trabalho falaram mais algo, então acabei deixando o blog no forno, por um tempo, para quando eu tivesse tempo e energia. E uma coisa eu percebi:
Quero que o blog seja espontâneo como a vida é, eu não quero fazer dele uma obrigação, e sim um prazer.
Dito isso, eu quero contar brevemente um pouco sobre mim.
Eu me mudei para Paris quase um ano atrás, para estar com o meu namorado e antes desse momento chegar eu tinha um sentimento louco e uma necessidade grande de mudar alguma coisa na minha vida. Eu já tinha terminado a faculdade, tinha uma carreira que não me satisfazia e eu desejava uma vida no exterior há anos, mas nunca tive a coragem ou os meios suficientes, e naquele momento eu tive uma grande “desculpa”: o amor . Pode parecer brega, mas, e daí? é verdade! haha :)
Então aqui vou eu: Eu deixei minha família, amigos e a antiga vida para trás. Às vezes era muito assustador e a vida em Paris e longe dos meus entes queridos não foi fácil, mas ao mesmo tempo, tem sido um ano incrível, tanto é que estou indo para o segundo na Cidade Luz.
Aos poucos aprendi francês, trabalhei em lugares que nunca imaginei, encontrei o emprego dos sonhos (outro post para isso!) e comecei a ver a vida de uma forma que eu nunca pensei possível. Acho que este texto poderia ter sido escrito por qualquer pessoa, já que viver em um país diferente do seu e viver como um adulto pode ser globalmente semelhante a um monte de gente, mas nada é tão claro que não possa ser explicado e detalhado um pouco mais.
E é por isso que estou aqui: talvez para ajudar vocês com algumas dúvidas sobre a vida em Paris, ou sobre a própria Paris, e talvez me ajudar a descobrir um monte de coisas que eu ainda não vivi ou que estou prestes a viver. Como uma boa perfeccionista, eu ainda quero fazer mil mudanças no blog, ter uma câmera profissional, um melhor layout, etc, mas eu tenho que começar de algum lugar, não é?
